Summary: AU of Season 11 Finale, “Alpha and Omega.” The Darkness offers to give Dean what he needs most, and Dean finds himself ten years in the past with Sam dead, Azazel on the loose and, seemingly, nothing that he needs. When he and Castiel meet, they form an uneasy truce to rescue Sam–but nothing goes as planned. Dean learns that what he wants and what he needs are not always the same–and comes to understand the gift the Darkness has given him.

Artist Notes: I think this is the first year running of the destielrb and I had submitted two illustrations to this challenge.  Some how they both ended up being due at the same time and on the first day even.  o.O  However I was able to produce an title banner for my author, who claimed my illustration to write a story based upon it.  I really enjoyed Desirae's story and, I hope you take a moment to read it.  I was very lucky for her to select my illustration among so many awesome submissions.  There are a lot of talented artists that participated in this challenge!  So a huge thanks to Desirae and the mods of the Destiel Reversebang for this fun opportunity!
